Abdiel Speaking at Grand Opening of the Medical Clinic

Greetings to all! It has been a busy spring here at the Bethshean Mexico Mission with lots of much needed renovations to the camp, nursing home, and some area churches. Also, summer activities are just around the corner, so planning, planning, and more planning is on our agenda!

It was such a delight to have members of the Bethshean Mexico Mission Board of Directors here for the official Grand Opening of the Medical Clinic. Board members attending were Tom Plank, Michael Plank, Craig Rickman, and Uriel Mayorga. We had members of various area churches and some people from the community visit that day. They got to take tours of the building and see the different areas. It was a great day and a great success!

MISSION WORKER HIGHLIGHT

Jose and Jazmin

The Church at Maravillas

Jose Gallegos has been working with the mission for 12 years. He has been involved in various aspects of the mission over the years, including the nursing home maintenance, night watch at the clinic, camp maintenance and now, he is head of maintenance over the different areas throughout the mission. He is a great asset to us. He and his wife, Jazmin, also support the church in Maravillas, as they minister on Sundays there. The church in Maravillas has about 12 members, along with around 10 children. This last week, one of the young boys, Javier, was baptized. This decision brought great joy to his parents and to the congregation!

PROJECTS

Resurfacing Exterior Walls at the Nursing Home

Many updates are in progress at the Nursing Home this month. A portion of the exterior wall is being resurfaced due to water damage. One of the oldest trees had to be cut down because of the damage it was causing to the ramp entrance. Also, the front sidewalks have been redone with new concrete so that water will no longer leak into the home when it rains. Due to government requirements, an emergency exit door has been installed, along with new fire extinguishers and signs. One of the significant repairs coming soon is the nursing home roof, as parts of the home still have the original roof!

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Since the school year was extended out to July 29th this year, we will be holding the youth summer camp the first week of August and the intermediate summer camp the second week. The youth camp will be led by Abdiel and Shannon Rocha and the intermediate camp will be led by Jose Gonzalez, a fellow minister and friend from San Luis Potosi. We are looking forward to gathering again with the kids and I know they will be ready to have a week of fun after being in school practically all summer!!!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray with us….

FOR THE GROWTH OF THE CHURCHES, BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND PHYSICALLY

FOR THE MINISTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO CONTINUE TO FOLLOW GOD’S CALL, EVEN IN THE MIDST OF THIS FALLEN SOCIETY AND OPPOSITION

FOR THE STAFF OF BETHSHEAN TO SHOW GOD’S LOVE TO ALL IN EVERYTHING THEY DO, FROM MAINTENANCE TO MEDIC, FROM GROUNDS KEEPER TO PREACHER

FOR RAIN, AS THIS LAND SO DESPERATELY NEEDS GOD’S SHOWERS UPON IT!

As always, thank you for your partnership in this labor of love that God has called us to. We appreciate your prayers and the financial sacrifices that you make in order for this all to happen. May God continue to bless you as you serve Him!

Blessings,

Abdiel and Shannon Rocha
